Prologue

Kaiser was born in Taegu, South Korea. His father was a potter and his mother a painter, both who were considered to be of lower class. The couple loved each other and their dear son but as years passed they fell further into poverty, and then came the fateful day when Kaiser's fate would take a dramatic turn.

"You are going to have the life that you always deserved, my child."

The boy, age six, did not require an explanation. Already very perceptive for one so young and judging from the bleak tone in her voice, he knew what was going to happen. In the following couple days, a well dressed man who gave off the air of an aristocrat took Kaiser by the hand and led him away to the leather encased backseat of his Mercedes Benz. Kaiser never once glanced back to his parents or even said goodbye, in fact, he was quick to close the car door before the driver had for him.

Life in a mansion with his new family was far from blissful and it was a matter of time until the high society family who had adopted Kaiser had shown their true colors. From his foster parents to his four sisters to his cousins, elders and so on-- all were cold, greedy and spoiled to their core. Kaiser had received a good education and several luxuries that most children could never have, but instead of being loved and cared for, at home he was treated like a modern Cinderella, a slave, forced to fulfill every task which his cruel family demanded as Kaiser developed a stern disliking for his father's whip. During the dead of night when he was left alone to apply salve to his wounds, Kaiser wondered why they were all so vicious toward him, praying that one day he would stop being a pauper and finally become a prince.

At age twelve his prayer would be answered.

Impressed with how Kaiser's wit had become as sharp as his unwavering glare, and furthermore, how Kaiser had survived six years of demeaning treatment, his foster father announced that he would succeed him as the next head of the family. The old man embraced Kaiser, the first sign of tenderness which he had shown since adopting him, and the boy was finally convinced that good things would follow. In some ways it did, alas, Kaiser still wasn't loved, only respected because of his family name and what influence they had. As a result, he had developed an intense hatred toward humanity for being so neglected. Kaiser shunned everyone, preferring to condition his talent in the arts and music rather than socializing. By then, he only cared about coloring his youth with self-discovered beauty of his imagination and the world around him...

...while the uglier parts of the same world painted him in many dark layers.

Seasons came and went as quickly as he had grown. When Kaiser was twenty one, he was hardly recognizable from the scrawny boy who he used to be. Blessed with proportions of a male model and a face with beauteous features unrivaled, it was while gazing admiringly at his reflection that a shiver of delight roused him--- Kaiser's smirking mirrored twin was telling him to make use of the weapons which he had acquired; his skill, his persona itself--- Now, he could have his liberation.

Confident that he was superior to not only his family but to everyone else as well, it was at a Christmas dinner party when Kaiser shocked the room with his announcement: "Find yourselves a new dog to roll over for you. My work here is done and this family can burn in Hell for all I care," said with a callous smirk as he savored his wine along with the ghastly expressions surrounding him. During that same evening, Kaiser had left home with barely anything save for a few clothes, a wad of cash and a bottle of 1990 Pinot to celebrate his freedom with later on. He stormed out of the mansion into the blizzard outside and never returned.

Establishing a living was a daunting task. Kaiser, too used to living like a king, struggled to make his earnings. In order to survive, he took advantage of his melodious voice, singing solo at nightclubs in order to pay off his rent and fill his stomach, otherwise he was broke. Chance smiled upon him, however, when he found a ragtag group of men who were in need of a vocalist. Kaiser was very skeptical of their talent but the band was astounded by his voice and urged him to join, ensuring him a generous cut of earnings at their performances. In spite of this, Kaiser wasn't satisfied and refused to participate unless the band made him their official leader. Hours following his proposal, Angel Heart was formed with Kaiser as the man in charge.

Under Kaiser's direction and meticulous management, Angel Heart became one of the most acclaimed rock bands in all of the country, the vocalist never failing to win the hearts of star-struck fans as he dazzled them again and again as if he were a god. Only two years later would he transcend his position, evolving into his band's producer and composer, and amaze once more when he invested in a personal studio. Kaiser had amassed a fortune by then with his activities in Angel Heart and involvement in side projects outside of his musical career, eventually transforming his studio into an illustrious corporate building, the Kaiser Empire.

While the birth of the Empire remarkably enhanced Kaiser's success, his band mates noticed that the man who they had spent glorious days with was quickly becoming so egotistical, and worse, Kaiser was showing a side of himself that was too domineering for their tolerance. Arguments raged like wildfire between the band and their leader in the following months until it became unbearable; the men went their own ways, leaving the great Kaiser with his Empire completely under his ruthless reign.

Kaiser couldn't have been more satisfied to wield so much power in the palm of his hand; unfortunately, it made him more sadistic, aggressive, and notoriously smug. More annoying still was how obsessed he was over his image, throwing fortunes away to dress in the finest clothes and beautify his flawless appearance. Debasing those who were inferior according to his high-set standards became as routine as breathing, but he felt no shred of shame for being 'honest'. All of this and more was so infuriating in the eyes of some clientele and staff that they rebelled against him. To counter the chaos Kaiser took matters into his own hands, unsympathetically executing all of the traitors one by one from his company and life. What did it matter to lose a few pawns? The self acclaimed gorgeous genius had more than whatever riches his severed family ever accumulated, and he wouldn't stop there.

Alas, supremacy and riches failed to prevent the young entrepreneur from total boredom. As Kaiser toiled in his office overlooking the capital city of Seoul, he suddenly felt compelled to cross the boundaries of his country and expand his sights for new territory to dominate. In the mid summer of 2004 Kaiser flew to Japan and made a permanent residence in the heart of Shinjuku while he continued his work as the Empire's boss there. Managing work in between the two countries proved arduous, but on the other hand, he found it thrilling. Oh yes, Kaiser was finally settled in a splendid mood for a long period---

---until he felt his buzzing cell phone in the middle of a conference meeting, spat into it angrily on pickup, and listened to the hysterical voice belonging to one of his senior executives [and ex-girlfriend] wailing into his right ear. Something had gone horribly wrong at the company.

Excusing himself with no more than a few words, Kaiser took the next flight to Seoul and burst into the room where the board of directors had all gathered, his angelical face becoming that of a demon's. In a few strides he seized the suit who must have been the bastard responsible for stealing a billion won from the Empire. There was no proof of the man's guilt, though that wasn't needed; Kaiser was always right by his inklings. That little, balding, pea-brained, ugly man also wasn't needed. Allowing that vermin to breathe in that room was a crime in and of itself.

Kaiser proceeded to stifling the other's throat, an instant solution to his problem.

While from behind, the police tore through, swarmed Kaiser on all sides...

...and dragged him away, removing the roaring emperor from his kingdom.

Present

Kaiser's arrival at the hospital marked certain apocalypse for the whole of Bakuzen; from day one he declared war against the people who had made a prisoner of him, directing his vehemence at the staff specifically for supervising him not as an extraordinary [or even normal] human being but as a patient--- which Kaiser denies to be. He claims that his containment is an inexcusable injustice, that he is not ill in the slightest--- although his actions and intolerable character says otherwise. While he was admitted for an attempt of homicide on an innocent, deep analysis and testing proved that his hostility stemmed from acute narcissism and the desire to be an unstoppable force, a tyrant if need be to get his way. Aside from what is documented on behalf of his condition, not much else is known about Kaiser and the finer details of his life.

Adding further to complications through his sovereign-complex is Kaiser's refusal to be treated. His disregard for the staff authority remains as intense today as it has from the beginning, however, one among their members has been accepted to supervise him. Nurse Hizaki, who originally was not assigned to Kaiser, became the first of few people who he would allow as company and behave remotely friendly around. The reasoning behind this is obscure, though a strange relationship came to pass between the duo on account of their rather incompatible personalities. Astonishingly, the two still manage to coexist with each other as harmoniously as they can allow, granted that Kaiser makes an effort to limit his violence and Hizaki continues to visit.

Kaiser's other developed relationship lies with Bakuzen's maid, Kamijo. Like Kaiser and Hizaki, the artist's relationship with Kamijo is very unique [to say the very least], however, theirs is alternatively more awkward on account of hostilities stemmed from both of their competing natures and mind games. Nevertheless, Kamijo's forthright oath to destroy Kaiser and his reign of peril has taken Kaiser's interest, thus they carry on as rivals and sparring partners--- To heighten their shared challenge, Kaiser has agreeably trained Kamijo to strengthen himself physically and mentally to become a person worthy of the fight.

Behavior wise, Kaiser is acknowledged as one of the more dangerous patients of Bakuzen, having committed a number of atrocious acts in revenge dating back to his admittance. From verbal threats to inflicting actual harm onto anyone who angers him, it is difficult to say whether his lust for blood is secondary to his self-lust in how often he demonstrates his merciless acts of cruelty. From one ordeal to another, Bakuzen's staff has tried scores of attempts to curb Kaiser in every which way, yet even they have failed countless times. As past experiences have shown, the ward's influence does not sway Kaiser's will when his mind is set; some even admit with remorse that he is the dominant force, the puppeteer who holds the hospital by strings.

Quote a doctor,

"He has control over all of us."

Needless to say, Kaiser agrees.
